Tell us about who you are? How does it feel to be a year older?

I would describe myself as funny, creative, entrepreneurial. Health & wellness is my jam, I love yoga, juicing, and I believe in working hard & playing hard. I am passionate about helping moms, connecting them, and inspiring them in anyway I can.  I love that P&B gives me the outlet to do that and combine my creativity, passion, and entrepreneurial drive all wrapped into one. I am thankful daily that I get to wake up and do what I love!

Being a year older makes me realize that I couldn’t be happier where I am in my life today.  I have overcome a number of health issues and come out on top! Also, I am grateful for who I am today and where I am today. I am stronger, I am better, and I am more confident in who I am.

How did you start Pink & Blue? Did you think it would be what it is today?

No, I really never dreamed it would be what it is today! It really just started because I was a new mom, and I saw a gap in the marketplace and wanted a place for other moms & dads to connect. I am from Florida, and craved a mom community so that I can make new mommy friends! Pink & Blue was perfect, because it quickly became the “it” resource for parents to exchange & give advice. Postpartum depression is very real & moms needed an outlet to connect. Having a baby can be pretty scary! Honestly, Pink & Blue grew organically,  it wouldn’t be where it is today without all the moms & dads that have made it such a wonderful community, network, and resource.

How many kids do you have? What is your household like?

I have two beautiful girls, that I love to the moon and back. My friends always say that my house could be a reality show. It is hysterical and we are always moving and shaking!

Can you describe your philosophy on parenting?

I believe in having a relaxed go with the flow parenting style, it could be described as  the opposite of the helicopter parent. I believe in having a routine for the kids but, not so traditional. We like to keep things as calm and low-key as possible! My husband and I both come from a home with 4 kids and I think that comes with chaos. So, the go with the flow attitude is a natural fabric of our home.

What is your work/home life balance like and how do you manage it?

My mantra for this year was “balance” and that is where the whole mindfulness direction came into play. I think that balance is the key to happiness and health. I do yoga, exercise, take walks, and basically find time for myself in my daily life! Moms need to take care of themselves so they can keep the family together. If mama is happy, the family is too!

What are some of the challenges in being a working mom?

I think finding the balance among the daily routines & deadlines. I strive to be a #momboss and find “quality” time with my kids and take in everyday moments. Time flies by so quickly and it is important to get family time in. In the end, what matters most in life, is the memories with your children & family!

How has motherhood changed your life (your style, your routines, your social life etc.…)?

It has made me the women I am today. I couldn’t imagine not being a mom. I am still social and make time for my husband and friends. I think that is the key to finding the balance &  joy  in your life!

If you could tell all the parents on Pink and Blue one thing, what would it be?

Be happy in your own skin! People will always judge you and tell you how to be a better parent. Learn to do what works for you and your family! For example take after school programs, don’t follow the crowd.

What do you see for the future of Pink & Blue?

I see sunshine & rainbows. No really, I hope that I can continue to inspire and connect moms. My goal is deliver great content! I love what I do and I’m excited to see where the P&B journey takes me…

Who inspires you?

Oprah! Period. The end. I could die tomorrow if I met her. She gets to the heart of who people are and tells their story! She is soulful, accomplished, and inspiring. I will always aspire to have a little piece of her in me.
