Spring/Summer 2015 Makeup Trends

With more daylight and warmer weather to come (hopefully), we often  like to switch up our heavier, darker clothing to brighter colours, lighter, more breathable fabrics and textures. So why not do the same with your makeup?

This doesn’t mean you have to break the bank or go on a full out makeup shopping spree at your local makeup counter, it just means being smart about your choices.

For instance, keep the staples like your black liner, mascara and complexion products (concealer, foundation, powder..etc). Switch it up and opt for brighter nails, lips, and cheek colour. To bring you some of my newest favourites for spring are Wet ‘n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain in Red-Iocactive, a gorgeous bright pinky red that really gives the lips that flushed, bitten look and MAJOR staying power. I’m totally enamoured by this product. Think bright corals of all kinds in the spectrum and bright pinks. This is sure to liven up your look in seconds and add fun to your look.

Cheeks – another beautiful element to truly change your look in a quick, fool-proof way. You can either use a creamy blusher that sets into a powder (Senna Cosmetics ‘Cheeky Blossom’ or Stila). The idea is to keep the skin dewy and fresh.

Another great tool is to really accentuate the brows. I know we talked brows in the last post but if there is one thing you must know- brows are definitely IN for spring. So fill them in, brush them through, but brows are really making a strong comeback after years of thin, unnaturally high arched brows – so go with it – keep the skin looking dewy, brows with impact, a bright pop of colour on lips and cheeks and voila – you have your spring look!
